Texas A&M is a staple of University Athletics with one of the most passionate fanbases in the SEC. The two years I spent working in the Athletics Department was a period of excitement and growth following the "Johnny Football” craze.
The major focus of the 2015-2016 season was to bring design consistency across all sports. Each sport was able to select 4 key players to feature across a poster series.
Texas A&M had a problem with its social media accounts. Each sport had its own social-media coordinator that had complete autonomy over each team's posts. This made for a very mismanaged brand when it came to social media; and for some teams it meant a complete lack of professionalism.
We paired with the marketing department to create photoshop templates and patterns that could then be distributed to each person responsible for a particular team's account. Each of these templates could switch out featured players, common headlines, opponents, featured photos, etc. Through this we were able to create harmony with an individual team’s many posts and the entire family of Texas A&M.
A really cool project was getting to work on a special edition shirt celebrating the Men’s Basketball Team winning the SEC Championship. The shirts were distributed at the winning game to the fans and the players.
One of my favorite projects from my time at A&M was a special edition poster we did for the baseball team. The team wanted a classic style illustrated poster. I drew inspiration from the time honored tradition of fans blowing bubbles at Olsen Field.
